Everyone is aware that of the dangers of tobacco. Tobacco is responsible for a variety of serious health problems, and still, millions of tobacco users worldwide still continue their habit. This is because one of the biggest dangers of tobacco use is the addiction felt once a user becomes dependant on the product. Once you begin using tobacco products, it becomes very difficult to stop.

Tobacco users are faced with some very serious health risks, which include an increased risk for cardiovascular issues like heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke. Other dangers of tobacco use include lung disease, lung cancer, chronic sinus infection and disease, and laryngeal cancer (cancer of the voice box).

The risk of cancer, throughout the entire body, is a significant danger of tobacco use. Aside from the cancers that have become synonymous with tobacco use, such as the ones listed above, users also increase their risk of pancreatic cancer, colon-rectal cancer, and cancer of the esophagus. An estimated 14 - 28% of stomach cancer deaths have also been linked the tobacco use. Each year smoking alone causes an estimated 400,000 death in the United States.

The dangers of tobacco products can affect day to day life, causing premature wrinkling of the skin, yellowing of the teeth, bad breath, an unpleasant lingering of smoke on clothing and hair, and even a poor sex life. That's right. One of the rarely known dangers of tobacco use, is that it can be a major factor of impotence in men.

Pregnant women should always be aware of the dangers of tobacco products. A woman that uses tobacco products during pregnancy increases her newborn's risk of diabetes, and mental retardation. It can also cause miscarriages and low-birth weight in babies.

So what exactly is tobacco good for? That has yet to be discovered.
